Objective:  To write an original story for children, complete with illustrations or to revise and change an existing children's story and illustrate it.

Steps:

1.  Take four sheets of 8x12 paper, and fold them in half, together.

2.  Staple them together at the fold.

3.  Think of a children's story that you have heard or remember from your childhood.  Think of how you would rewrite the story in a different way.  Some ideas might include changing the point of view from which the story is told, or changing the characters in the story, or changing the setting of the story.  Or you may create an original story from scratch.

4.  Write your story out in your book, spreading it out over the eight pages, front and back.

5.  Add color illustrations for your story on every page.  Illustrations may cover adjoining pages.

6.  Add a title and illustration to the cover of your children's book.
