Group Story--Comic Strip

Objective:  To create a story using a one line story starter.  To work collaboratively in a group in order to create a sequence of events for the story and illustrate them in the form of a comic strip.

Steps:

1.  Choose one of the following story starters.  These can be the beginning of your story, the middle or the end of your story.  However, the sentence must be included in the story somewhere.

The man was walking through the forest when...

The gruesome monster lay still in the night, waiting for...

The car screeched to a halt when...

She opened the door and the room was filled with...

The water glistened in the moonlight as...

The sound of footsteps broke the silence...

The intense pain from the impact rushed through his body...

The window exploded with a loud bang...

A shadow appeared in the reflection of the water...

2.  In a group of two or three people, decide on a beginning, middle and end for your story.  The story must be centered around the story starter chosen.

3.  Draw out your story in no less than six frames.  You may have more than six frames.

4.  Write out your story below each frame.  The illustrations should correspond with the story.

5.  Color each illustration.

Example:  "The water glistened in the moonlight as..."
