Dreams and Nightmares Imagery

Objective:  To study samples of how dreams are depicted in visual imagery.  To study the role of dreams in Psychoanalysis.  To research and apply techniques in analyzing personal dreams and nightmares through the identification of specific subjects or symbols.  To utilize artistic skills in writing about and illustrating personal dreams and nightmares.

Steps:

1.  Prior to beginning the project, make a conscious effort to record events occurring in your dreams.  This will require you to keep a journal next to your bed so you can write down what you remember upon awakening from a dream.  It may take several attempts to complete this part of the assignment.

2.  In groups, discuss the role of dream analysis and psychoanalysis in today's society.  Keep notes.
