Objective: To create an abstract illustration by enlarging a segment of an existing picture.
Steps:
1. Find a photographic picture in a magazine.
2. Measure a 2x2 inch square somewhere in the middle of the picture.
3. On a piece of 8x10 paper, enlarge what is only inside the 2x2 inch square that you drew.
4. Find another photographic picture in a magazine.
5. Measure off a 1x1 inch square somewhere in the middle of the picture.
6. On an 8x10 sheet of white paper, enlarge what is only inside the 1x1 inch square.
7. Use shading techniques to bring out the shadows and highlights in the picture.
