Nonobjective art

Objective:  The study the elements of nonobjective art.  To demonstrate the ability to create nonobjective art.

Steps:

1.  Nonobjective art has no defined subject matter.  Look at examples of nonobjective art by the artists Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky.

            Wassily Kandinsky  http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/kandinsky/

2.  Draw a generic shape covering two-thirds of a 12x18 sheet of drawing paper.

3.  Starting on one side of the paper, draw a continuous line, with a combination of straight angles and curves all over the page, like scribble scrabble.  Do not make the lines too dense so that you cannot distinguish between separate lines.

4.  Fill in each space with a different pattern.

5.  You can use either black and white or different colors.

6.  Fill the majority of the space with designs.
