Optical Illusions

Objective:  To create optical illusions that trick the eye and to understand the fundamentals of how optical illusions achieve this.

Steps:

1.  Look at examples of optical illusions, determining how they trick the eye.

2.  Optical Illusions are achieved through the use of contrasting colors, repetition and space relationships.

3.  Draw a minimum of five small thumbnail sketches in pencil of optical illusions.

4.  With the instructor, choose the one that is most effective.

5.  Enlarge the optical illusion onto a 12x18 sheet of drawing paper.

6.  Use contrasting colors.
