Safari Murals
Objective: To create original and unique compositions that depict Safari themes.
Steps:
1. Get in groups of three to five people.
2. Choose a Safari theme to use in your mural
3. Look through magazine pictures, personal photographs or the Internet to find other pictures that you can integrate or juxtapose with the Safari picture, to make it unusual, different, surreal, or unique.
4. Draw your picture first on a small sheet of white paper.
5. Decide on a composition within your group.
6. Using the Grid method discussed in a previous lesson, enlarge your picture proportionally. A good enlargement would be 1/2 inch=1 foot or 1 inch=1 foot.
7. Once your picture is drawn out on a large sheet or sheets of craft paper, color the picture with the medium of your choice.
8. Your final mural should be no smaller than 3x4 feet.
