5^th-6^th Art and Technology ideas

1. Students will research a specific place or famous person, using the Internet, and then create a brochure for that place or about that person, using Microsoft Publisher or traditional artistic skills.
2. Students will use the Internet to research architectural works from a specific architect and then use Microsoft Publisher to create a real estate advertisement for that piece of architecture.  Additional advertisements can include a persuasive poster created, using traditional art methods, and a PowerPoint presentation about the real estate.
3. Students will learn about bone structure by researching about bones, examining dried bones, looking at bone slices under a microscope, and by drawing bones.
4. Students will examine sea life by researching various types on the Internet or by gathering samples and then drawing the samples and writing about them.
5. Students will use the Internet to look for examples of English literary terms like palindromes, metaphors, similes, etc. and then write sentences to include these examples.  Then, students could illustrate the examples they have found.
6. Students will learn mapping skills by using the Internet to look at different types of maps, by visually examining a particular place that they want to map out, using their memory skills to recall a favorite place, and using artistic and mathematical skills to actually render a map.
